We all know Organic food is a better way of farming, as it pertains soil quality and energy conservation. Also, it produces little waste, which is easily decomposable. The most beneficial aspect of Organic Food is, it reduces the exposure towards chemicals synthetics. And many studies have shown a potential difference in nutrient value present in Organic and Non-Organic food. In respect to the fact that organic food is deprived of any preservatives, it tastes better and fresher.

Even organically raised animals, who are not exposed to antibiotics and growth hormones are relatively lower at risk of diseases. This is done only through organic feed given to animals. In many countries, it is mandatory that organic crops should be GMO-free and animal husbandry done on organic feed only.

  • Inorganic

    Inorganic process of farming includes chemical rich fertilizers, pesticides to avoid pests and herbicides to manage weeds. Also in the process to grow animals they, inject antibiotics, growth hormones and other medicines to prevent diseases.

  • Organic

    While in Organic farming, natural fertilizers are preferred such as Cow dung, natural manure. These fertilizers help to provide nutrients to the soil and facilitate plant growth. To remove pests and reduce the possibility of other diseases, organic farmers use birds and insects. There are methods like hand weeding, crop rotation and covering so that weeds could be managed. Animals are exposed to organic fodder and are given permission to stay in open. There are natural ways to prevent diseases in animals.

Significance of organic farming

Out of all the benefits of Organic Farming, the most significant one is Environmental Conservation. Though you should be aware of the drowning condition of our Earth. We are aware of depleting Ozone Layer, Global Warming and so on issues continuously and growing. With the reduction in the use of harmful chemical pesticides, you have a fully open opportunity to erode the fertility from your land which further invites disasters. Such as floods, droughts, etc. Even these chemical rich pesticides once you leave these synthetic chemicals in your farm they boast the temperature which leads to Global Warming.

According to a Study published recently in the Medical Journal Annals of Internal Medicine “Organic produce was 30% less contaminated with pests than other conventionally grown fruits and vegetables.”

So, it is high time we switch to more natural and healthier veggies!
